5 star review in the dive bar category!!!! Went on a slow Tuesday evening...very friendly waitress. Parmesean-Cajun wings are as good as advertised....maybe the best wing I have ever had. No real heat...just a small kick with tons of flavor. Shrimp Po Boy was excellent as well...the bun was fresh and soft. Be sure to mix in the house red beer. Wife is a big fan of Killians and the like and thought their Red was better. Overall a perfect spot to drink and eat and get overserved after a day on the beach!

Okay, so this was a hard review to write. I mean this place is a dive bar, it's dirty, the bar smelled of smoke, the food came in paper plates, and the drinks in plastic cups. If this had been a traditional bar, I probably would of given it one or two stars. It got five stars though, because it has everything I was looking for....a true beach bum dive bar. Now let's begin the review. For starters, it's a short walk across the street from St. Petersburg beach, great for when your spending a day at the beach. We began with lunch here and were seated out on the patio which is more of a plank board walk. The sunny weather and breeze blowing in the plam trees, really made it hard for me justify exactly why I should return to Ohio. The bar is painted in a light blue and orange, so makes it hard to miss. The waitress was nice, sort of sassy and when I told her I was visiting to get away from the winter weather, looking for something different and unique to try, she suggested the clam strips with fries. I have never had clam strips and was a little skeptical, but this was a vacation and I had to be adventorous. I also ordered a margarita (served in a plastic Dixie Cup). The margarita was strong and as much as I would of liked it frozen, they only serve it on the rocks. It still warranted a second one on the 85 degree day. The strips were served in a paper basket with cocktail sauce in a plastic throwaway cup and the nervousness began. The strips were awesome, deep fried to a golden brown, but still juicy and tender when bit into. They weren't overly fishy smelling and coupled with the cocktail sauce, made a perfect meal. Of course, to remember this event, I had to buy a souvenior t-shirt.

We were in St. Petersburg for a wedding and looking for something to do. We found Drunken Clam on google and decided to give it a shot. It was a great choice! Cheap beer, delicious wings, and a great dive bar experience. Will definitely come back next time we visit!

A 100% local, bona fide St. Pete Beach dive bar. Old wooden floors, nice outdoor patio with a sliding glass door (how many bars can boast that?) that provides easy access. They probably should add decals to the door, though, so you can tell when it's closed. I'm famous for doing that stone cold sober, so I can imagine what it'd be like half in-the-bag. We were there with a big group on MNF night and they were giving free drinks away every few minutes, when someone scored (the football players, I mean). Super friendly bartender, super cheap drinks. Seven of us drank for three hours and the bill was $80. God Bless Florida! Smoking is allowed inside the bar, on account of they don't serve food (as is my understanding of the FL smoking laws). Plus they have a Myspace page, so they're kinda hip. If I go again I'll let them know about facebook and maybe even twitter, oh, and Yelp of course. I didn't bring my "You've been yelped" cards with me that night.

Great classic dive beach bar, even though it's not on the beach. But it's across the street and it's got that atmosphere. Great friendly patrons and staff. Decent prices on beer. Live music in the evenings. Just a fun laid back place to throw down a few cold ones.

The Drunken Clam rocks. This is a true old school dive type bar complete with video juke box and cigarette machine. Don't be afraid of the exterior appearance. All are welcome here. This place was located directly across from the hotel I was staying at and it turned out to be a real gem. The atmosphere was different each time depending on when you stopped in. We went on a Thursday night and enjoyed some cool music, watched some hockey and the atmosphere was great, the bartenders kept the bar loose and even though we were strangers, all made us feel welcome. Things really got wild when several of the ladies in the audience, jumped up on the bar and gave an impromptu Coyote Ugly dance. Another time, I popped in to have a beer during the day while waiting for a pizza I had ordered at the Beach Mart next door. Come to find out the Beach Mart was owned by the Clam so the guy delivered the Pizza right to my bar stool. We did eat here on one occasion and enjoyed the peel and eat shrimp and clam strips and some buffalo wings which were good pub grub.

The Drunken Clam has excellent food. We checked out their website, called our order in, picked it up only 15 min later and brought it back to our beach condo. The nachos are the best nachos I think I have ever had. We got them with the chicken. Their peel n eat shrimp is also a winner. I would also highly recommend the shrimp po-boy sandwich. It was amazing. Generous with the shrimp. Seasoned perfectly. Not keen on eating there since they do have smoking inside. Don't expect too much indoors as it is a dive bar; but who cares? The food is that good.

  • Melissa V.

This place was awesome. We went on a Monday night because of the review on Yelp, and it was just down the street from our hotel. We followed other recommendations and got the cajun parmesan garlic wings, and deep fried clam strips. They were both AMAZING. The best wings we have ever had. The service was great, friendly bartender even though the place was full of locals. Would highly recommend and return if we are ever in the area.

I've been here a couple of times and just recently tried the food. First, it's as divey as a beach bar as you can get. But it's fun for sure. If you come here on a Friday or Saturday after 9pm, be prepared to stand and drink. When I did order food, I ordered a burger and chips. I asked for the burger medium-rare and it was cooked slightly more rare, but definitely nothing to complain about. The burger was huge for sure, but there wasn't much taste to it; I've definitely had better. Oh and my chips? Just generic Ruffles. They couldn't even give me the brand name. Weak. If you like wings (I don't - chicken skin is gross), then come here as everybody I've talked to say they're amazing. And if you get a chance, sit outside. The wooden booths may be a little uncomfortable, but the fans feel amazing! One last thing - the bathrooms are tiny. Like claustrophobic tiny. Like if you're really drunk, you have to do everything you can not to pee on yourself tiny. But it's a great, fun bar that I'm sure I will return to many times in the future.

    (4)
  • Alison W.

Totally agree with the other reviewers. It's quite the dive bar. We chose to sit outside (really smokey inside). Our waitress was super sweet and even spent time chatting with our kids (yes I know parenting win, kids at a bar). A couple of the local patrons even came outside to talk with the kids. We had the Cajun garlic parm wings. They are phenomenal! Just the right amount hot, not too spicy. We also got a side of old bay fries to sop up the extra sauce that was leftover. Service was excellent, we visited on a Tuesday at lunchtime. The red clam beer is tasty and not badly priced at $8.50 a pitcher.

    (5)
  • Jim B.

Cool as a clam. great atmosphere and "calm red" beer. Also kid friendly outside. Typical bar food with lots of clam options to eat. Prices are fantastic being a half block from the beach.

  • Michaek S.

Service service service- where the f was it?? No one came to great us, bartenders ignored us, no one came to our table to take order after 20 minutes.... Screw them too many other spots on beach!!

    (1)
  • Jennifer S.

We waited over 20 minutes for service and were ignored completely. The tables surrounding us were full of empty cups and no food. Diners entered this establishment with clamshells full of food from the Sea Turtle Restaurant in front of this bar. Evidently, the owners of the Sea Turtle informed us that very few restaurants in St. Pete Beach have a liquor license so diners order food at their restaurant to take to this place so they can have hard liquor. The interior area was very loud, with drunken women in their 20's pretending to pole dance for elderly drunken men, AT 5 PM. We really enjoyed this restaurant 2 years ago, and were very disappointed.

    (1)
  • Kyle G.

It's clam-tastic! Just a simple, divey beach-adjacent bar with loud (and sometimes live) music, cold/strong drinks, and service with a "if you don't like it, you can leave" attitude. Prices were average for the beach, but offered some pretty good specials. It's clearly a neighborhood bar, and I'd comfortably guess that its about 1/4 locals and the rest are tourists. If you're looking for this place at night, use a GPS or don't blink because it's very easy to miss.

    (3)
  • Chris M.

Doesnt get much more local than this. Everybody was very friendly. The bar patrons bought my wife and I some shots celebrating our wedding, that happened 7 months before, and somebody even brought in a lemon from their garden to make lemon drops. Drink prices are very reasonable. Can't wait to be back at the Drunken Clam!

    (5)
  • Ed E.

This is the dive bar you have been looking for with some of the best food around. The fried clams are huge and a basket of fries is a basket of fried, not a side. The people were great and diverse. I saw a biker sharing stories with a grandmother who was knitting at the table.

    (5)
  • Stephanie S.

Love this bar!! Their chicken wings are amazing!! 20 for 10.95! Also their margaritas are great! They have live music Thursday, Friday and Sat. So fun!! They also stay open later than the other beach bars. People and bartenders are fun and nice!!!

  • Donald H.

Great place to unwind....! good service...good booze...great folks..!

  • Matt K.

Spent 3 days in St Pete and hit the clam each night based on yelp reviews. Food was great depending on the cook. Sunday and Monday great: shrimp po-boy, wings, steamed clams. Tuesday: bad wings and so-so burger. Pauly was a great bartender with attention to detail. Still waiting for a beer from josh on a Tuesday. Overall sunday-monday 5 stars. Tuesday 2 stars.

Stumbled upon this gem while in St. Pete Beach. The staff is phenomenal. Felt at home as soon as we sat down. Smoked fish dip 9+. Boiled Shrimp 9.5+. Cajun Parmesan Garlic wings ...? They hit this one out of the park! Atmosphere is just the beach shanty chic that we love.

    (5)
  • Natalie W.

Cajun parm wings and fries were amazing. The name brought us here and the friendly people and great food are going to keep us coming back for the rest of the week while we r on vacation! Awesome little place!

    (5)
  • Karen J.

Diamond in the rough! The food was pretty good, had the Cajun garlic Parmesan wings per everyone's suggestion, they were excellent. Had steamed clams which were good. Heavy pour on drinks. Waitress was sassy in the best way!! Definitely will go back! A must go to. Just keep in mind it's definitely a dive, would never bring kids.

    (5)
  • Sue S.

Found this bar on Yelp so we decided to check it out for ourselves and we weren't disappointed. We ordered a pitcher of beer to go with the Cajun Parmesan wings and the buffalo wings. The beer was served in a frosty glass and the wings were delicious. We got a table outside luckily, because inside was really too smoky. The only complaint was that there were a lot of local little kids running around and loudly screaming while their parents sat and socialized. I have kids and have a high tolerance level for that but it lasted too long, so much that the little girl at the next table was begging her mother to leave! I may give it another try, haven't decided yet.

    (4)
  • Rebecca R.

Great prices on drinks, good people... lots of local folks that don't give you the evil eye because you're a stranger. The bartenders are friendly and generous with the liquor. My husband and I went back on our second night in St. Pete just because we enjoyed ourselves so much the first time.

    (5)
  • Ryan H.

I thoroughly enjoyed this place. I got propositioned by an 18 year old prostitute... $150 full service... can't beat that price... :)

    (5)
  • Steve B.

This place really is the definition of a dive bar. The beer is cheap, the food is surprisingly good and cheap. For example a draft beer and a burger was only five dollars. They are famous for their wings, which we did not try when we were there. All of the locals hang out at this place. Everyone seems to know one another but were very welcoming and encouraged us to come back. It is a must see when you're in the St. Petersburg area.

    (4)
  • P W.

This was an awesome place to come after a long day of drinking at the beach. It is the prototypical Florida normal bar. The atmosphere was awesome, mostly locals hanging out and drinking. I will return once I get back down to Florida. The bartender gave us a free shot because the girl we were with drank the shot out of a plastic toy shark. He goes "It's on me, because that's cool." Good times at this bar.

    (5)
  • Eric L.

Best live bands on the beach! Tiny kitchen cranks-out some excellent meals. One of the best beach bars in Pinellas. Gotta love the name too! LOL

    (5)
  • Annalisa P.

Had a blast at the Drunken Clam!! Very laid back and SUPER FRIENDLY service that made me feel like I was at my neighborhood bar :) Music was great. I only planned to stay for a while and ended up staying til closing (about 3am)! Next time we are in St Pete we will definitely be back!!

    (5)
  • Larry R.

had a great experience. I'm really not a big wings guy, but these were as good as any I've had in Buffalo. Super hot and fresh. Grilled mahi sandwich tasted light and satisfying, with exceptionally good coleslaw. Joe's burger also hit the spot. Fries were hot and crispy. Alltogether, a swell time at a local's spot.

    (5)
  • Kristin J.

Disappointment is an understatement. One star only because you have to give a star. Their so~called best wings are a disaster. Dry, tasteless, with a few scraps of cheese on top. Smelled like they had been in the freezer right next to the fish. The calm strips were just so gross. Thats the only way i can describe them. There was one that was mushy... couldnt finish it. Theres more, but ill just end it at the food. Overall, just a disappointing experience.

    (1)
  • Cher W.

Dive!!!! Do not waste time going to this place. Service is rediculous!! Mixed drinks are terrible. Dirty place. Local seedy people there. The wings are good if they ever get the order right or if you want to wait 2 hours for them. Place needs a face lift badly and new management. Never again!!

    (1)
  • Ty A.

Awesome little spot directly off the beach. Friendly bartender and awesome patio benches that were super comfortable. We had the Mahi sandwich and 20 of the most amazing wings ever. Get the Parmesan garlic wings hands down!

  • Matt P.

If you like some combination of dive bars, cheap drinks, good people, live music, delicious wings, the beach, and hockey - you will love this place. Everyone who works this place is a class act, and to top it off - they know their hockey (can be tough to find a place to watch a hockey game in FL - I come from San Jose, CA so they are my Sharks support group when I come into town). They consistently have awesome musicians for your listening pleasure, and their wings are top notch if you drop by before the kitchen shuts down. It also really doesn't hurt that they are across the street from the beach! I have played music in this place, I have gotten hammered in this place, I have stopped by just to eat, and I have even hung sober to be a DD. In every situation, I left smiling. Even when you have to be the driver - how many places can you go where the bartenders and the clientele make up for the drag of sobriety while your pals are getting sloppy?! The Drunken Clam: King of the Dives.

    (5)
  • Erica G.

I love this place. The wings are spectacular. The best wings I've ever had. Yes, it's a dirty dive bar. I've taken many people here and they all rave about the wings. Get the Cajun Parmesan garlic - award winning for a reason. Now, let's talk about price. You'll think the bill is wrong but it's not. Crazy cheap.

    (5)
  • Christine S.

Had time to have lunch alone and wondered around until I found this place. The Drunkin Clam is a beach shack bar that delivers. I'm not a fan of chicken wings, but listened to my bar seat neighbor enjoy his. His finger-licking was all I could hear, so I imagine they're delicious. However, as I said I don't eat em, so I ordered the clam strips plate and had a Woodchuck cider with it. These ain't the clam strips I was used too. They were plump and nicely done. Rebecca, behind the bar makes you feel welcome.

  • Jay O.

Great rustic little bar and grille right across the street from the beachfront hotels. Friendly staff, great food, great prices. It's a nice little get away. Try the fried clams. They are ginormous! : )

    (4)
  • Steve B.

Good dive bar. It's a small hole in the wall place that has plenty of cold beer, friendly service and terrific wings. I hade their Cajun with Parmesan style and loved them.

  • Brett N.

Why 3 stars? Because I don't understand the hype. --- --- --- I visited the Drunken Clam because of its 4.5 star rating, in an area where that's an extreme rarity. Why is it an extreme rarity? Because places on the beach rely on... being on the beach. A typical beach bar & grille will consist of bar food, and a beer selection that's gone back in time to the pre-craft revolution. Heck... a lot of these places don't even have a blender for frozen drinks. Sadly, this was my experience at the Drunken Clam. We had some solid fish dip, and then some below solid wings. We chose their "famous" cajun parmesan garlic flavor, which translates to buffalo wings with a pinch of parmesan cheese on top. And the wait for these ten wings was pretty much ridiculous. This is a tweener 2-3 stars for me. My kingdom for a place with good food and beer selection on the beach!

    (3)
  • Jerod B.

Drunken clam is a good place to eat. It is a dive, but if the locals swear by it, it must be good. There is parking for both vehicles and motorcycles, and plenty of table space. They serve cold beer ( PBR for me, budlight for the MRS). She got the cheeseburger which was done the way a person at home would grill ( they way YOU like it). I had the wings ( very good and meaty). It was well worth the trip to the unknown.

    (4)
  • David S.

A hole in the wall with the best clam strips I ever remember having.fast friendly service w. good proces.unusual for a beach town.

    (4)
  • Carla R.

Great little bar off the path. Places like this are a breath of fresh air from the typically crappy, and over priced hotel bars. Went for lunch and had some fish spread, peel and eat shrimp, wings, and clam chowder to share between a few of us. The food was delicious! Drinks were good, everything was normally priced, not vacation priced. Service was excellent! I will absolutely go back!

    (5)
  • Jon B.

Pretty much you standard dive bar with pub food and drinks. Being from Wisconsin I was told this was a good place to go to watch a Packer game. I believe that was good advice.

    (4)
  • Kevin B.

Wish they had at least gotten the order right. Ordered clam PO boy, received shrimp. Ordered chicken wrap with no ranch (told its out on the side) received? Chicken wrap with ranch on the sandwich. Burger was mediocre. Guessing all the 4-star reviews are from drunk folks looking for a cheap bite.

    (1)
  • MichiganRay ..

been coming here for years. It has stayed open for over twenty years because it is a good bar with good food for a bar. The steamed Cajun shrimp is a steal and as good as any restaurant for twice the price.

    (4)
  • Chris B.

I guess I'm one of those seedy locals that other lady talked about... I love this place and it's absolutely perfect for what it is - beer, wings, sports!

    (5)
  • Kyle R.

It's a pretty nice pub, nice atmosphere full of TV's for sports and such. The food was pretty good I got the buffalo wings and I was surprised they used pretty good chicken wings they were not small little wings but pretty big and hearty. My one complaint on the wings though I asked for them to make my wings as hot as they could and they were pretty mild but they did taste good so I guess that makes up for that. My mother who was vacationing with me is very picky loved her burger it was unique in that the onions are within the meat of the burger and she really liked that. Overall really nice restaurant.

  • Eric W.

Finally got to check out the Clam. It's a very all right dive "beach" bar, though you do have to cross Gulf Blvd., from the beach, to get here. It is however very conveniently located opposite the public beach on St. Pete Beach. I did try the Cajun Parmesian [sic] Garlic wings and they were delicious. The sauce and cheese were so good I was eating the shredded Parmesan cheese from the bottom of the basket. Very reasonable price too at $7.95. Only complaint, wish they were a bit hotter (spice hot, they were smokin' hot temperature wise). Bottom line, I think I found my new favorite place for a beer near the beach. Oh, and for a little fun, why not go "Ice Fishing" for $1.50? I won't spoil the surprise, but do check into it. PS. Happy Hour daily from 11Am to 7PM.

  • Sloania H.

We were on our way out of St. Petersburg and decided to grab a quick bite to eat. I am so glad we stopped at the Drunken Clam! We ordered the fish dip and the clam po' boy. The fish dip was delicious and we took the suggestion from our waitress and order it with chips instead of crackers. The clam po' boy was the best I have ever had! The breading on the clams was crispy and it had a hint of spice that was delicious! The sauce on the po boy was creamy and tangy with the right amount of acidity. I would definitely come back next time I visit St. Pete!

  • Amy A.

Good food, but if you're not a regular the service is slow, and they can be a little rude. :(

    (3)
  • Lydia Z.

The Cajun garlic parm wings will turn a bad day into a great day. And as for the drinks and the staff, they are some of the best on the beach. Ellen, Brandi, and Josh are some of my favorite bartenders on the beach, while I don't get out much because Im a bartender myself, this crew is a stand up one! Great drink prices, staff and a bunch of big screens to catch your favorite game this is a definite place to play!

    (5)
  • J C.

The diviest dive I've personally ever been to. I went there because of all the 5-star reviews. I guess I should have read the reviews, because the folks who gave this place 5 stars admit that it's a dive. NOT my scene at all. It's sticky, dirty, and loud. I felt like I needed a shower when I left. The staff ARE very nice and provide good service. The food is passable bar fare. Salty, chewy fried clams (necks only...but not unusual...I couldn't find whole fried clams anywhere in St. Pete Beach). Salty but good fries. Ok chicken strips. They had honey mustard dip, which is a must for chicken strips.

Great bar tenders! Awesome local beach bar!!! Great food too! Very relaxed and friendly place!!! Swimsuit welcome!

    (4)
  • Bridget G.

Yuck!!! Smokers outside make the atmosphere almost unbearable. Servers spend more time talking to each other than they do talking to their customers. Do not go here! It's gross.

Good boiled shrimp but we left without our cheeseburgers after waiting for AN HOUR! Waitress was apologetic but obviously the kitchen was short staffed.

  • Jamie A.

We stopped in here based on the good reviews from Yelp and Urbanspoon. It was just okay. The bartender was awesome. She was super friendly from the second we walked in. The inside of this place is pretty grubby but it's a tiny dive bar so that was to be expected. Lots of outdoor seating but the sun was blazing and we were too hot. Drink prices are excellent. My husband had 2 Redds for about $3 each and my Yuengling draft was $2. The food was kinda blah. I had the grilled Mahi Mahi sandwich. It was about $9 and came with potato chips. The actual piece of fish was about the size of my palm (if that) and was really dry. There was way too much extra bun. My husband had a cheeseburger that was also really tiny and super overdone. He put his potato chips on his burger and said that helped. I would go back here for the drinks and fun atmosphere but I would eat elsewhere!

Some friends and i were staying out on St Pete Beach one weekend and we ended up wandering over to the Drunken Clam after hearing the music from outside our hotel room. The live music was great and the atmosphere was relaxed and fun. I do believe they permit smoking inside- but it wasn't overwhelming. Great place to go after a day at the beach- when you don't feel like dressing up- but want to jump up and down to some good music.

    (3)
  • M M.

Waited 20 mins before having to go to bar for service. Flavors were good but the wings were way overcooked and overcooked onion rings. Will not be back.

    (2)
  • Alyssa C.

Woof. We love dive bars but customer service is always a must. Our waitress didn't write anything down and forgot to put our side order in until we reminded her after our meal. She walked away in the middle of us asking her for a beer. She seemed more interested in chatting with other staff members than giving customer service. Meanwhile the male servers are standing outside picking out which girls they think are "hot" inside. My husband and I have both worked in restaurants and this could absolutely be on the new show Restaurant Nightmares. So if your into a smokey atmosphere and being ignored, it's a great place to go. The only star given was for the wings, they were really good.

Great little bar and great food. Had the Clams, Wings, and Fish Dip all were awesome. Will stop by again on next rip down.

Great food. I had the fish spread which was great and their cajun garlic parm wings which were probably the best wings i have had!

    (5)
  • Blake D.

I guess we visited at the exact wrong time. We had a table of 3 and it took 1.5 hrs to get some simple food items. The food finally came out and my fish sandwich was painfully dry, burger is overcooked, and shrimp were not made as ordered. Asked for tartar sauce and never got it. Then, to top it all off, the server couldn't split our check 3 ways and made us put it on a single card. Absolutely ridiculous. Will not return.

    (1)
  • Shannon B.

The wings were amazing!!!! Some of the best I've ever had. The margarita was good enough, and the service was wonderful!!!! They have take out as well so that's a plus.

    (5)
  • Danielle S.

Let me start with- my server and bartender were awesome. The service was awesome. The food is another story. I had the shrimp poboy sandwich. If I'd known the bread was day old and stale I would of had a wrap. The flavor of the food was good. The fried were soggy and not crispy. It's probably better as a late night watering hole than a place to grab lunch, they do allow smoking inside so FYI if you're like me and hate smoking indoors. I ended up eating outside.

  • Alyx K.

As Keith R. says, this is a true beach bum dive bar, across the street from the beach and tucked away behind a gas station. Live music, outdoor seating, cheap beer (they have a beer of their very own on tap! Surprised and impressed by that), some of the best wings I have had in a while and delicious nachos. Tons of local flavor, but completely welcoming to visitors as well.

    (5)
  • William F.

We are frequent visitors to St Pete and nearby TI. We always try and seek out new places to eat at when we visit. After a long day on the beach, we were craving wings. After reading many of the reviews how they had the best wings we decided to give it a try. We knew it was a dive bar, so our expectations were aligned with "dive bar" conditions. We were basically going to get a few beers with appetizers. My wife and her friend decided on nachos, and my friend and I went with the Parmesan Garlic Wings. We sat at the picnic table towards the back door, and it was nasty and sticky. I had my forearms in the table and the surface was so sticky it about ripped my skin of when I tried to remove them. The nachos my wife and her friend had way, way to many onions. The wings....let me say this.....they were some the worst wings I've ever eaten. They were extremely dry and appeared to have been left in the deep fryer about 20 minutes to long.

Spend a lot of time when we go down to FL at the Drunken Clam. It's a great dive beach bar. Chris, the bartender, is great! Can't wait to go back...

Every year for the past seven years we stop in at the Clam. Never disappointed. The bartenders are great the drinks are cheap and everyone has a great time. That said, I love dive bars with a local flavor, good music and friendly faces. Maybe because I own one!

The hubby and I had a blast here on our last trip to St Pete. We stayed nearby and heard about this place and wanted to try it. We could walk from the Grand Plaza Hotel. We arrived shortly after they opened on Thanksgiving. Since we weren't with family it was nice to spend part of holiday with some friendly people. The owner, the staff and other patrons were all nice and fun to hang out with. Drinks were good, the food was great and the prices were reasonable. I had the Philly and three flavors of wings: Hot, Honey Hot and Cajun Parm Garlic. All three were great! The hubby had three orders of the clams. They came with little bites of garlic bread to soak up the juice. He loved them! I would tell anyone in the area to go here. My only criticism is they are not on the beach. When I'm down there I want to see sand and water, but it's worth missing it for a little while to visit this great dive bar!

If you're looking for a good deal on food and great draft beers come to the Drunken Clam! THEY SPELL CLAM COWDER like CLAM CHOWDAH!! Any bar with a sense of humor... I'm In! This place is a diamond in the rough off the main drag of St. Pete's Beach.... very glad I stumbled into this bar! Friendly service and delicious WINGS!! Bartender BRANDI and Owner were humble people thankful and greatful to have out of towners in their bar. Also live music at night! Good times!

Reasonable prices, nice owner and bar staff with occasional live music and the BEST wings we have ever had! Only drawback is the smoking inside....

Great rustic little bar and grille right across the street from the beachfront hotels. Friendly staff, great food, great prices. It's a nice little get away. Try the fried clams. They are ginormous! : )

Good dive bar. It's a small hole in the wall place that has plenty of cold beer, friendly service and terrific wings. I hade their Cajun with Parmesan style and loved them.

  • John L.

    (1)
  • Larry R.

had a great experience.

  • Cher W.

A hole in the wall with the best clam strips I ever remember having.fast friendly service w. good proces.unusual for a beach town.

    (5)

Pete!

Good food, but if you're not a regular the service is slow, and they can be a little rude. :(

Waited 20 mins before having to go to bar for service. Flavors were good but the wings were way overcooked and overcooked onion rings. Will not be back.

Great food. I had the fish spread which was great and their cajun garlic parm wings which were probably the best wings i have had!

    (1)

The wings were amazing!!!! Some of the best I've ever had. The margarita was good enough, and the service was wonderful!!!! They have take out as well so that's a plus.

As Keith R. says, this is a true beach bum dive bar, across the street from the beach and tucked away behind a gas station. Live music, outdoor seating, cheap beer (they have a beer of their very own on tap! Surprised and impressed by that), some of the best wings I have had in a while and delicious nachos. Tons of local flavor, but completely welcoming to visitors as well.

    (5)

Love this bar!! Their chicken wings are amazing!! 20 for 10.95! Also their margaritas are great! They have live music Thursday, Friday and Sat. So fun!! They also stay open later than the other beach bars. People and bartenders are fun and nice!!!

Cajun parm wings and fries were amazing. The name brought us here and the friendly people and great food are going to keep us coming back for the rest of the week while we r on vacation! Awesome little place!

Great prices on drinks, good people... lots of local folks that don't give you the evil eye because you're a stranger. The bartenders are friendly and generous with the liquor. My husband and I went back on our second night in St. Pete just because we enjoyed ourselves so much the first time.

I thoroughly enjoyed this place. I got propositioned by an 18 year old prostitute... $150 full service... can't beat that price... :)

Best live bands on the beach! Tiny kitchen cranks-out some excellent meals. One of the best beach bars in Pinellas. Gotta love the name too! LOL
